"I contacted Julia about two weeks before our surprise wedding. Yes. Surprise wedding. To my astonishment, Julia's Saturday had recently opened up and NOTHING I said would deter her from taking the job... including but not limited to:
This wedding is at a funeral. My dad doesn't know, I don't know how he will react. In fact, none of our parents know. Can we sneak you in the back door? This is the officiants first wedding. I don't have an aisle. Can you walk into the venue not saying a word to the 40 family members also wandering about, and let me know where the ceremony would look best in photos? Family photos in the parking lot? First looks in front of patio doors? I don't think there's an alternative but... I haven't been to the venue in a handful of years. Julia... my dad is sick, in bed... can we do first looks in a hotel room? ARE YOU ALSO AN EVENT COORDINATOR?!?!?!?!?!
THIS. GIRL. NAILED. IT. I cannot recommend Julia higher. I got our finished photos back and I cried. If I wasn't there to witness the reality of this surprise wedding at a funeral on my birthday, I wouldn't have a CLUE my dad was viciously sea sick from a trip that morning. No clue all of our parents were wildly disappointed. No clue our second shoot location was closed. No clue the not-so-official officiant filled out the three lines he had to fill out on the marriage certificate...wrong. Julia brought curiousity, compassion, and a freaking ring clean with her when all I could bring was anxiety. If Julia isn't available for your next event, change your event date." -M & L
