HEy, I'm julia! your Portland, Oregon wedding & ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Before I knew photography could even be a real job, I bounced through roles, always wanting more. I was always focused on the next thing, climbing the ladder, training the new hires, taking on extra responsibility, but no matter what, something always felt missing. I knew I craved purpose, creativity, and above all, genuine connection. I just didn't know where to find it yet.

Photography is so much more than just a job for me. I'm constantly and endlessly inspired by the in-between moments. The way someone reaches for their partner's hand without thinking, the soft laughter that spills out during a prompt, and the calm that settles in when you forget the camera is there.

Timeline

2021

I started intentionally carving out who I wanted to be in this industry. I began to shift away from family work and leaned into what I was most passionate about, the sessions that let people see themselves more honestly. And then, my husband and I eloped in Glacier National Park, just the two of us, on top of a mountain, wind blowing aggressively in every single direction. And that's when I knew I wanted to give other couples that same feeling of freedom, grounding, and deep presence that we had. That moment became my compass for everything that came next.

2023 - onwards

The growth since then has felt so unreal. Each year gets better than the last. I've photographed all-day adventure elopements, luxury weddings at breathtaking venues, and sessions all across the country. I've been pushed creatively, stretched personally. I've been reminded again and again that stepping outside your comfort zone is where the magic truly happens, and I'll always be grateful for it.

2021

I picked up a camera thinking it would bring in a little extra income. I had already fallen in love with photographing landscapes on my hikes, and the outdoors had become a grounding part of my life. Just a few months into shooting portraits and weddings, something clicked. I was fully booked, fully invested, and ready to see if I could make this dream more than a "side thing." That first year, I documented everything — 72 weddings and around 150 sessions. Families, seniors, maternity, couples… if someone needed photos, I was there. I don't know if it was adrenaline or pure stubborn determination. Still, it shaped the foundation of who I am as a photographer.

This career has given me friendships, wild adventures, and the kind of memories I'll never ever stop being endlessly grateful for. This business isn't just what I do; it's who I've grown into. And I'm genuinely proud of the person it's shaped me to be.

Fun Facts

Glacier National Park is my favorite place in the world, where my husband and I eloped, and where I feel most at peace.

I'm a proud corgi mom of two - Jasper and Sashi. And I dream of having a farm full of dogs who need a home.

I adore traveling for my couples and myself... yet I also have this deep, irrational fear of flying. I'll still get on the plane, don't let that stop you from taking me places.
