Elopements

An Oregon elopement doesn't mean running away; it’s about running toward the kind of love story that feels unrushed and deeply yours.

Whether that means hiking beneath alpine glow on Mount Hood, saying vows on a foggy Oregon Coast morning, or sharing a quiet moment with your closest people. Your Elopement day deserves to feel like a memory you can step back into. My job is to help you create a day rooted in intention and emotion, and to document it in a way that feels like the two of you fully and unapologetically.

"I stumbled upon Julia from TikTok and the photos that caught my eye were at the place we wanted to get married! So of course I had to book her and I’m so grateful I did. We quickly became friends and she really was one of the best parts of our special day. We even got to meet in Mi for our engagement shoot and that was just a dream. I can’t stop looking back at the photos because they truly are so magical. Her work is so moody, earthy, and whimsical and that’s everything we were looking for. I highly recommend Julia, you won’t be disappointed by her talent and you will definitely make a new friend."

She was one of the best parts of
our wedding day.

"Working with Julia was fantastic! She was there with us every step of the way from booking to wedding day! My husband and I booked with her originally intending to have an in state wedding and then a few months later completely changed our vision and decided to get married out of state! Julia immediately pivoted and was so happy to follow us out of state to make sure our vision for our perfect wedding came true! She was a pleasure to have at our event, we got so many compliments from our guests that she made them feel “relaxed, at ease and like she could handle anything that came her way”. I’m so glad we chose her! She brought such a positive energy and she captured our wedding exactly how it felt for us in the moment. Authentically us! Thanks Julia"

Hailey + Tyler

She immediately pivoted and was genuinely excited to follow us to Montana.

"If you’re ever hesitant on whether or not to elope…DO IT. My husband and I had such an awful time trying to plan a wedding with him being in the military, timing never worked out, our family being states away, it just wasn’t in our cards. But I still wanted to feel like a beautiful bride, and who doesn’t?! So, we eloped in the beautiful Olympic National Park with Julia. Julia is phenomenal. Her photography captured our love perfectly, she made us feel so comfortable and we couldn’t stop laughing. Thank you so much Julia for tolerating us and making our special day, so so special. I’d climb up a mountain any day of the week with you!"

Kind Words

Every couple has its own energy. Some are playful, some quiet, some chaotic-fun, some soft and romantic. Whatever your dynamic is, I meet you there and photograph the truth of it.

Reach Out

Tell me everything, the vibe you’re dreaming of, the PNW landscapes you’re drawn to, how you want your day to feel, who (if anyone) you want to be there, and any ideas you’ve already scribbled down. From there, we’ll hop on a call to talk through possibilities, locations, timelines, and what’s most important to you.

THE CALL

Connection matters so much for Elopements. It’s often just the three of us out in the middle of nature, and I want you to feel completely comfortable with me. This is where we talk through expectations, accessibility, travel, hiking comfort levels, Oregon elopement locations, weather preferences, and any other questions you have.

Choose Your Package.

Once we talk through your vision, the hours you’ll need, and whether we’re hiking, road-tripping, or celebrating with a small group, you’ll choose the coverage that fits your elopement. I’ll send a customized proposal with everything in one place: contract, retainer, and details.

Reach Out

Once signed and submitted, your date is officially secured. You can exhale, your Oregon Elopement photographer and guide is locked in and ready. This is where the real fun starts.

The Oregon Elopement Day.

I move with you, not ahead of you. Whether we’re hiking in the dark for sunrise, wandering through a forest, exploring tide pools, or celebrating with loved ones, I follow the natural flow of your day. I step in to guide when needed, and step back when the moment needs space.

Gallery Delivery.

Sneak peeks arrive within a couple of days (because I know you’ll be dying to relive it). Your full gallery is hand-curated and delivered in a beautiful online experience, ready for downloading, printing, sharing, and reliving the story of your Oregon Elopement again and again.

Oregon elopements don’t have a dance floor or a strict timeline, but they do have tender exchanges, laughter, stillness, joy, and the kind of intimacy that’s easy to miss in bigger celebrations.

Evening

After your ceremony, the day moves at your pace. Family photos, private vows, hiking to a new viewpoint, a trail picnic, it’s truly up to you. This is the time to focus on just existing together, adventuring, or enjoying the quiet. No pressure, no rush, just intention. Your Oregon Elopement can end with a celebration: dinner under the stars, a fire pit, or a champagne toast at an overlook.

Morning

Your adventure begins! I meet you at the trailhead before sunrise or at your Airbnb as the coffee brews. I ease in, capturing the light, your energy, and details that make your Oregon Elopement unique. I offer gentle guidance when helpful and step back when the moment needs space.

What an Oregon Elopement day can feel like.

Day

Portraits are relaxed and movement-based: walking hand-in-hand along the coast or sitting together at a lookout. During your ceremony, I fade into the background so you can be fully present. I capture real reactions, shaky breaths, tears, laughter, nerves, all the things you'll want to remember.

The word ‘Elopement’ comes from a time when couples would run away together in secret. Now, it ranges from that all the way to flying to another country and making it a dream experience. Eloping can be with just the two of you or with some family or friends included. Eloping usually involves getting away to a natural setting and saying your vows in a beautiful location. The most amazing part is that you can really shape the whole day to whatever suits you both the most.

What is an Oregon Elopement?

Seeing a couple of full galleries can help you know how the photographer handles every lighting situation and the creativity they bring to the day. As for reviews, make sure there are lots of positive ones so that you can see how other couples' experiences were. You can take a look at all my reviews and galleries on my website!

Planning Tips

Before you start really diving in, sit down together and start with the main points:
  • What is your overall budget? What are your priorities and must have vendors? What is your budget for each vendor?
  • Figure out your location. There are so many gorgeous Oregon wedding locations that it can be difficult to choose. Keep in mind that many places require permits. This is usually in National Parks and State Parks. So do your research on licenses in the areas you're considering, of course this is something I help with.
  • Choose a date! This plays a massive factor in your elopement. Consider the time of year and the weather, as well as busy seasons when there may be lots of people. Consider a weekday to avoid crowds, too!
  • Book your photographer. Bookings fill up for wedding vendors far in advance, so if you have your heart set on a particular vendor, try to let them know as soon as you have a date and location set.
I go super in-depth with all my couples, and all my Oregon Elopement packages include some planning assistance.

Where do I start with my Oregon Elopement planning?

Oregon Elopement photographers' prices vary widely based on many factors. Their experience, what they include, if they're local vs flying to you, etc. The first thing to do is sit down and figure out what you want from your photography package and what is important to you. Then you can find someone who fits. And when choosing an Oregon Elopement photographer, please check whether they are experienced with safety, permits and the terrain.
I can't stress this enough. It is so important to bond with your photographer. We are with you practically all day. Connecting with us plays a significant role in how we can explore together and really understand how you two flow together as a couple. Make sure to get a feel of the photographer's personality and process.

Frequently Asked

The beauty of Oregon Elopements is that they can be intentionally flexible, not rigid. I purposely build buffers into the timeline so things can flow naturally without stress. Your day won’t feel rushed at all. If we ever need to, we can always add on an extra hour day of.

What happens if we run behind schedule?

You’ll need: A marriage license from any Oregon county (no residency is required). An officiant (or a friend with a temporary permit). Two witnesses (I can absolutely be one if needed!). I’ll walk you through all these logistical matters when we start planning.

How do we legally get married in Oregon?

Your Oregon Elopement can be just the two of you or include a handful of people who matter most to you. We’ll discuss accessibility, travel, and which locations work best for a group. You might want them there for everything, but couples usually opt for the family to be there for a short time to celebrate; whatever works for you!

Can we include family or friends in our Oregon elopement?

Being in the PNW... the weather is always a question. I shoot rain or shine. I always bring clear umbrellas for my couples to have, but I encourage couples to embrace the weather. If we need to create a back up plan, I am always there for you!

What if the weather is unpredictable?

Many Oregon locations do require permits, especially in State Parks, National Forests, and along the Oregon Coast. Every area has its own rules, which can change seasonally. I help guide you through the permit process so everything is legal, simple, and stress-free.

Do we need a permit to elope in Oregon?

Most of the time, I recommend booking 6 – 12 months in advance, especially during popular months like March - May and Sep - Nov. That said, Elopements are flexible; if I have availability, last-minute bookings are absolutely possible. However, please don’t leave it to chance!

Wondering 'What questions should I ask an Oregon Elopement photographer before hiring them?' Well, I've already got them answered for you!

How far in advance should we book our Oregon Elopement?

I recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, being prepared for the weather, and considering your activity level.
Bring layers for temperature changes, boots for rocky paths. I’ll help with specific suggestions based on your location and season.

What do we wear for an outdoor Oregon Elopement?

From experience, most Oregon Elopements fit into 4–8 hours. If you're hiking at sunrise or visiting multiple locations, 8+ hours or a two-day experience might be ideal. We’ll build a timeline around how you want your day to feel.

How many hours of coverage do we need?

got some more questions? ask away →

Most of the time, yes, Oregon is very dog-friendly! Some trails have restrictions, so we’ll choose a location that keeps furry friends and everyone else safe and included.

Can we bring our dog to our PNW / Oregon Elopement?

Not at all. Hiking Elopements are amazing, but Oregon has tons of stunning, accessible locations with minimal walking. You can be as adventurous or as low-key as you want. It's your day, so you get to choose how it looks completely!

Do we have to hike for our PNW elopement?

For me, an Oregon Elopement is anything with fewer than 20 people, officiant and photographers included, however this can vary from place to place. Elopements center on intention over tradition. It’s less about the size and more about the meaning and focus on the couple rather than a big party.

What counts as an “Elopement” in Oregon?

Absolutely, you can! I've had many couples celebrate privately on Oregon Elopement day, then host a larger gathering later with family and friends. I’m always more than happy to include multiple days in your package if you need it!

Can we have a reception later?
